Shoreham Port Shortlisted for Port of the Year at 2026 Fishing News Awards

Shoreham Port has been shortlisted for Port of the Year at the 2026 Fishing News Awards, recognising the Port’s continued investment in infrastructure, services and support for the fishing industry.

The Port has a long-standing fishing heritage and, over the past year, has made significant improvements to enhance facilities for the fleet operating from Shoreham. These investments reflect a strong commitment to supporting a resilient and sustainable fishing sector.

Key developments over the last year include the opening of Fishergate Marina, now the largest inshore fishing marina on the South Coast, providing modern berthing facilities for the local fleet. The Port has also expanded its Chandlery, ensuring fishers have access to essential safety equipment and last-minute supplies when needed.

In addition, Shoreham Port has introduced ‘Berth Zero’, delivering shoreside power to support up to ten commercial fishing operators, and has launched a net recycling scheme to promote more sustainable fishing practices.

Fishing landings at the Port have continued to grow, reflecting the strength and activity of the fleet based at Shoreham.

As a Trust Port, Shoreham Port reinvests its profits directly back into port infrastructure and services, ensuring long-term benefits for port users and the wider fishing community.

Shoreham Port is delighted to be recognised alongside other leading ports and encourages those wishing to show their support to vote in the 2026 Fishing News Awards. Click on the link and scroll through until you come to ‘port of the year’.
