Applications Open for New Circular Economy Skills Bootcamps Starting January 2027

Businesses, self-employed professionals and aspiring sustainability leaders across Brighton & Hove and Sussex are being encouraged to apply for two new Skills Bootcamps in Circular Economy launching in January 2027.

Delivered by Professor David Greenfield and the team at SOENECS (Social, Environmental and Economic Solutions) in collaboration with Brighton & Hove City Council, the Department for Education-funded programme is designed to help participants develop practical circular economy skills that can be applied directly within their organisations.

The programme follows the success of the first Circular Economy Skills Bootcamp delivered earlier this year, which brought together 17 participants and led to Brighton & Hove City Council and SOENECS being shortlisted for two National Recycling Awards in 2026.

Hosted at the NatWest Accelerator Hub at the University of Brighton, the 10-week programme combines expert-led training, practical exercises and industry insights, helping participants identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve resource efficiency and unlock new business opportunities. Participants will also gain Circular Economy Institute Trained certification.

A key feature of the course is a bespoke Circular Economy Opportunity Assessment, enabling each participant to explore practical ways to improve sustainability, retain material value and strengthen commercial performance within their own organisation.
