Business Academy events help local firms start, grow and trade internationally

Businesses across Brighton & Hove and Sussex are being encouraged to take advantage of a packed programme of free expert-led webinars this week, covering everything from launching a new business and improving presentation skills to exporting overseas and using artificial intelligence for market research.

The Department for Business and Trade’s Business Academy is hosting a series of online sessions designed to help entrepreneurs and established businesses develop new skills, access international opportunities and overcome common growth challenges.

The week’s programme includes practical workshops on assessing the viability of a new business idea, creating impactful presentations, franchising for growth, building effective supplier relationships and making the most of business boards and directors.

Businesses looking to expand internationally can also access specialist guidance on opportunities in India, North America, Ireland, Germany, Australia and Saudi Arabia, alongside advice on international e-commerce regulations and tax requirements.

A dedicated digital skills session, How to use AI to research your market and competition, will explore how artificial intelligence can help businesses analyse market trends, understand customer behaviour and identify new commercial opportunities.

The webinars are free to attend and open to businesses of all sizes. Those unable to join live sessions can still access recordings for up to four weeks after registering through their business.gov account.
