Sussex & Brighton Strategic Authority Shares Key Updates in Latest Newsletter

The Sussex & Brighton Strategic Authority has released its June 2026 newsletter, outlining major developments, upcoming milestones, and strategic priorities for the region as it continues to establish its role and impact.

The update, led by Interim Chief Executive Mark Rogers, highlights progress across investment, governance, and regional collaboration, while setting the stage for future growth and engagement.

Highlights from the June 2026 Newsletter:

  • Strong presence at UKREIIF
    The Authority participated in the UK’s leading real estate investment forum, alongside partners within the Gatwick Airport Enterprise Zone, with plans to attend next year as a fully represented regional authority.
  • First-ever AGM announced
    The inaugural Annual General Meeting will take place on 1 July in Crawley, marking the first Board meeting since recent elections and featuring the launch of a draft Prosperity Strategy framework.
  • Prosperity Strategy development underway
    A long-term strategy to define the region’s ambitions, priorities, and growth plans is in progress, with stakeholder engagement and evidence gathering planned over the coming months.
  • Regional collaboration on heat networks
    An Expression of Interest has been submitted to Government to expand local heat networks, with proposals to upgrade existing sites in Worthing and Crawley and develop additional networks across Sussex.
  • New senior appointments strengthen the team
    Several key hires have joined or are set to join, including roles in communications, inclusive growth, transport, economic policy, and skills, supporting the Authority’s expanding programme of work.
  • Upcoming events and engagement opportunities
    Key dates include Invest Crawley (10 June), Sussex Day Parliamentary Event (16 June), and the AGM and strategy launch (1 July).
